Quick answer
There are three Ninja Creami pint systems and none of them interchange. Original 16 oz pints fit the NC299AMZ, NC301 and NC351. Deluxe 24 oz XL tubs fit the NC501 and NC601. Swirl 16 oz pints fit only the NC701. Match the pack to your model number, printed on the label under the base.
The single most common question we get is whether a pint from one Creami fits another, and the answer is always no unless the two machines share a pint system. SharkNinja has shipped three systems across the six models we have tested, and the outer bowl, paddle depth and lock are sized to each one. A wrong pint either will not drop into the outer bowl or sits too low for the paddle, and in both cases the machine will not start.
NC301 uses Original 16 oz pints (NC299, NC300, NC350 series). Other pint systems do not fit.

Which pint fits which model
Match the pint to the series, not to the capacity. Two of the three systems are 16 oz, which is where most of the confusion starts.
| Model | Pint system | Fits original 16 oz | Fits Deluxe 24 oz XL | Fits Swirl 16 oz |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NC299AMZ | Original 16 oz pints | Yes | – | – |
| NC301 | Original 16 oz pints | Yes | – | – |
| NC351 | Original 16 oz pints | Yes | – | – |
| NC501 | Deluxe 24 oz XL tubs | – | Yes | – |
| NC601 | Deluxe 24 oz XL tubs | – | Yes | – |
| NC701 | Swirl 16 oz pints | – | – | Yes |
Original 16 oz pints: NC299AMZ, NC301 and NC351
Every Creami in the NC299, NC300 and NC350 series uses the same Original 16 oz pint, and these are the only machines that do. The Gen 2 NC351 changed the housing and dropped the noise from 84 dB to 82 dB, but the outer bowl and pint are unchanged, so pints bought for an NC301 carry straight over.
- Confirm your model number: NC299AMZ, NC301 or NC351 on the label under the base.
- Buy any of the three Original packs. The XSKPNTLID2 grey-lid 2-pack is the same pint that ships in the NC301 box, the XSKPLID2CD adds lime and aqua lids, and the XSKPLD4BCD 4-pack is the best value per pint.
- Expect about four scoops per pint. The box includes two pints, so a 2-pack takes you to four in rotation.
After 20 top-rack dishwasher cycles our NC301 pints were faintly cloudy near the rim and our NC351 pints stayed clear; both sets of lids still sealed.
Deluxe 24 oz XL tubs: NC501 and NC601
The Creami Deluxe NC501 and NC601 share the 24 oz XL tub, and nothing else fits them. The tub is taller than an Original pint, the outer bowl is taller to match, and the lid-open height of the machine grows to 20.3 in on the NC501 and 20.1 in on the NC601 to make room.
- Confirm the model number is NC501 or NC601.
- Buy the XSKPNTLD2 XL tub 2-pack. It is the only tub pack for these machines.
- Expect about six scoops per tub. The NC501 can also process the top or bottom half of a tub on its own, so one tub can hold two flavors.
Our NC501 tub lids developed a small flat spot where they rested on the freezer shelf over 30 days but still sealed. The NC601 tubs showed no change after 20 dishwasher cycles.
Swirl 16 oz pints: NC701 only
The Scoop and Swirl NC701 uses its own Swirl pint, and neither Original pints nor XL tubs fit it. The Swirl pint holds the same 16 oz as an Original pint, but the base is shaped for the dispenser path and the outer bowl is different, so there is no crossover in either direction.
- Confirm the model number is NC701 (or NC701IV for the ivory Amazon exclusive).
- Buy the XSK7PNTLD2 Swirl pint 2-pack.
- Expect about four scoops per pint, or one full soft serve dispense run.
After 20 cycles the Swirl pints were clear; the part that needed attention was the dispenser nozzle gasket, which had to be reseated by hand every time.
What happens if you try the wrong pint
The machine protects itself: a wrong pint will not seat, so the lid will not lock and the install pint indicator stays on. We tried each combination deliberately when we tested the NC701 and the NC601.
- An Original pint in a Deluxe bowl drops too low. The lid locks but the paddle spins above most of the base and only the top inch gets touched.
- An XL tub in an Original or Swirl bowl does not go in at all.
- A Swirl pint in an Original bowl sits proud of the rim, and the lid will not close.
- An Original pint in the NC701 bowl seats loosely and the lid lock refuses to engage.
None of these attempts damaged anything, but none of them produced ice cream either.
Third-party pints: what to check before you buy
A third-party pint must match the exact system, and the ones we have seen are copies of the Original 16 oz pint only. The brand name on the lid matters less than three measurements.
- Check the listing names your series by model number, not just “Ninja Creami”.
- Compare the height and rim diameter to a pint you own. A pint 2 mm too tall will stop the lid locking.
- Look for a max fill line. Pints without one get overfilled, and an overfilled pint domes and hits the paddle.
- Check for dishwasher-safe marking. Every SharkNinja pint we tested went 20 cycles on the top rack.
Model notes: where the NC300, NC500 and NC700 series differ
- NC299AMZ, NC301 and NC351: one pint system across all three, so any Original pack fits. Three packs to choose from: 2-pack grey lids, 2-pack colored lids, 4-pack.
- NC501 and NC601: one tub pack, the XSKPNTLD2. The NC601 box lists both 16 oz pints and Swirl pints under what does not fit.
- NC701: one pint pack, the XSK7PNTLD2. The box includes a cleaning brush for the nozzle that no other model ships with.
Prevention: buy the right pint the first time
- Read the model number from the label under the machine, not from the box or the listing you remember.
- Note the pint system on your Amazon order so a future reorder is one click.
- Keep at least four pints per machine in rotation to cover the 24 hour freeze.
- If you own two different series, label the pint lids with the model number.
When to contact SharkNinja support
If a pint that matches your system will not seat, check the outer bowl for a chip at the rim and the pint for a warped base, then contact SharkNinja. All six models carry a 1 year limited warranty that covers the outer bowl and lid shipped in the box; pints bought separately are replaced as accessories. Have the model number and your Amazon receipt ready. Our manuals page lists the model number location and guide for every unit, and our how to use a Ninja Creami walkthrough covers the installation sequence that stops most pint complaints before they start.

Frequently asked questions
No. The Original 16 oz pint is shorter and narrower than the 24 oz XL tub, so it rattles in the Deluxe outer bowl and the paddle cannot reach it. The NC501 and NC601 only take XL tubs, which is why no 16 oz pints come in the Deluxe box.
No. The XL tub is taller and wider than the Original outer bowl, so it will not drop in at all. The NC299AMZ, NC301 and NC351 take Original 16 oz pints only. If you own both a Creami and a Deluxe, you need two separate sets of pints.
No, despite the matching 16 oz capacity. The Swirl pint has a different base profile for the NC701 dispenser path and locks into a different outer bowl. Original pints do not seat in the NC701 and Swirl pints do not seat in the NC301 or NC351. Buy the XSK7PNTLD2 pack for the NC701.
The same Original 16 oz pints as the NC301 and NC351. The NC299AMZ is the Amazon exclusive version of the Gen 1 Creami with the same motor, outer bowl and paddle, so the XSKPNTLID2, XSKPLID2CD and XSKPLD4BCD packs all fit. Our tests on it matched the NC301 within one second.
Two extra pints is the minimum for daily use, because each base needs 24 hours in the freezer. With four pints in rotation you can process one while three are freezing. Batch freezers who make a week of protein pints at once do better with the 4-pack of Original pints.
